MACRA management has adopted the Agile model, a development expected to transform the way we conduct business and deliver services.
Introducing the model during an orientation session for the management team Mayamiko Nkoloma said the approach will help managers and staff effectively track implementation of tasks, identify operational bottlenecks and provide timely solutions within departments and across the institution.
Agile is a flexible and collaborative approach to project management and service delivery that emphasizes continuous improvement, teamwork, quick adaptation to change and regular stakeholder feedback.
Unlike traditional rigid systems, Agile enables organisations to implement projects in smaller phases, regularly review progress and make necessary adjustments along the way.
Nkoloma said adopting the Agile model would help MACRA improve efficiency and responsiveness in the rapidly evolving digital and communications sector.
“The Agile model will enable faster implementation of ICT projects and policies, improve collaboration among departments and stakeholders, encourage innovation and ensure that services and regulatory interventions remain relevant to emerging technologies and public needs,” he said.
He added that the model will also support quicker decision making and better management of changing industry demands.
Sharing practical experiences on Agile, the Head of Project Management Office from Old Mutual Chimwemwe Kadangwe said Agile makes all of staff members to be on same page.
“It is a model that can be used all the time for different initiatives at all levels and creates cross functional collaboration,” she said.
She encouraged MACRA to fully adopt the model in order to enjoy its benefits.
