The Authority has rolled out a street naming exercise in the four cities of Blantyre, Zomba,
Lilongwe, and Mzuzu under the National Addressing System (NAS).
Street naming exercise is undertaken after the streets have been digitized, whereby data is
converted into a digital format.
The exercise involves the engagement of community members in validating the digitized streets
and thereafter naming them.
Addressing block leaders at a meeting in Lilongwe, Acting Director of Postal Services, Burnet
Namacha, said the exercise will improve navigation and service delivery.
He said NAS is being implemented following international standards, with all roads to be named
and properties numbered.
