Efforts to roll out the Last Mile Conveyance Project have taken a major step forward with the formation of a task force to oversee its implementation. The Last Mile solution is designed to ensure parcels are delivered to rural, unserved, and underserved areas.
Speaking in Blantyre at the inauguration of the task force, MACRA’s Director of Postal & E-commerce, Kondwani Kachika, described the Last Mile initiative as Malawi’s opportunity to reshape the courier industry: “This is our chance to build a more efficient, resilient, and customer-focused postal and courier network.”

Kachika explained that the inclusion of courier industry players was intentional, as they understand the environment and its challenges. Their participation will help to develop practical solutions while enhancing accountability and transparency.
Head of the Universal Service Fund, Ronald Tembo, whose fund is financing the project, expressed excitement at the progress being made towards the rollout of the Last Mile Conveyance initiative.
Malawi Post Corporation chairs the taskforce deputized by G4S Courier with Kwezy Courier as secretary.
