MACRA hosts Women in Cyber Conference
The The Women & Girls in Cyber 2025 Conference concluded with a strong call for support and action.
Held under the theme “She Secures: Building a Stronger and Resilient Cyber Ecosystem in Malawi,” the three-day event brought together young women, professionals, educators, and cybersecurity experts for a series of empowering sessions, practical training, and networking opportunities.
Conference Chair & MACRA’s Director of Legal Services, Thokozani Chimbe, highlighted the importance of collective action in making cyberspace safer and more inclusive. She noted that building a resilient digital environment requires deliberate efforts to empower and protect women and girls so they can lead confidently in technology.
She noted the overwhelming interest from women and girls to take part in the 2025, but only a limited number were able to attend physically.
She appealed to more sponsorships to help grow physical attendance of future conferences.
MACRA remains committed to supporting safe and inclusive digital spaces for all.
