SADC member states are this week participating in the 3rd SADC preparatory meeting for the next World Radiocommunication Conference which is scheduled to take place in 2023 (WRC-23).
The four-day Hybrid meeting is the first to be hosted by Malawi after the assumption of SADC chairmanship.
Speaking at the official opening of the meeting Principal Secretary for E-government Mr. Francis Bisika said the meeting will create an opportunity for member states to satisfy the needs in spectrum for emerging technologies
At the meeting, Radiocommunication experts from all SADC member states are expected to deliberate on agenda items set aside for WRC-23 which include SADC’s position on the identification of band for Earth Stations In Motion (ESIM’s) and also High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS). All SADC member states except Seychelles are attending the meeting.
