The Minister of Health, Honorable Khumbiza Kandodo Chiponda, MP today received a consignment of cholera materials from the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority. In her remarks, she commended MACRA for the timely assistance and stated that it would go a long way in the fight against Cholera. “MACRA’s example should be emulated by many organizations in the country, especially the private sector “, emphasized Hon Chiponda.
Representing the MACRA Board chairperson, Board Director Ms. Stella Chuthi stated that there was no better cause than to serve life and assured the Hon Minister that the Authority is always there to serve the nation. “The Authority is committed to providing the necessary assistance to ensure that the fight against Cholera is won.” She said. Additionally, MACRA has joined hands with the Ministry in conducting awareness campaigns in both urban and rural areas so that people are aware of all precautions against the disease.




The whole consignment consisted of 150 HTH of 25kg each, 11500 Ringer of 500mls each, and 12,000 Giving sets. According to the Minister, these are the most needed items when prescribing treatment to cholera patients. The function was conducted at the Ministry of Health headquarters at Capital hill in Lilongwe and was patronized by Ministry and MACRA officials
