The first ever women and the girls in cyber conference is currently underway at the BICC. The official opening ceremony was presided over by Her Excellency Madame Monica Chakwera, First Lady of the Republic of Malawi.
The conference is being held under the theme “Bridging the Gender Gap and Breaking the Glass Ceiling”. In her remarks the First Lady stated that the conference is set to nurture women in cybersecurity at all stages of their career, whether they are just starting out or striving to advance further. By highlighting the achievements of women in the industry and promoting inclusivity.
“I am therefore hopeful that conversations which we shall have during this conference will assist to close the gender gap and change the status quo in the cyberspace.” She said.
The conference will feature keynote speeches, plenary sessions, interactive panels, and breakout sessions. There will also be opportunities for networking and exhibitions to showcase innovative solutions and technologies developed by women-led startups, businesses, and social enterprises.
