MACRA renews Airtel Malawi licences

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) on February 6, 2024, officially handed over three renewed operating licenses to Airtel Malawi Plc. The new licences were handed over in Lilongwe at an event which MACRA Board Chairperson Mrs Bridget Chibwana described as “a significant milestone in the telecommunications landscape.”

The three licences include an Application Services Licence; a Network Facilities Licence; and a Network Services Licence. The new licences cover ten years and will run up to 2034.
