Today, MACRA stands in solidarity with Malawi and the world, marking World AIDS Day in Lilongwe.
Embracing the theme “Let Communities Lead,” Director of Broadcasting Zadziko Mankhambo, representing Macra’s Director General, encouraged staff members to be beacons of hope in their communities, especially for those affected or infected by HIV. “MACRA is committed to bringing hope, and I urge each one of you to take the lead in fostering hope within your families and communities. Let’s make a positive impact,” said Mankhambo.
MACRA HIV and AIDS Committee representative, Matilda Kanjeri expressed gratitude for the company’s proactive stance on HIV and AIDS initiatives, including policies and wellness programs. “We commend the management for their dedicated efforts in tackling HIV and AIDS through various workplace initiatives. I encourage you to foster openness in addressing issues related to HIV and AIDS,” she said.
At the gathering, Lilongwe District Medical Officer Dr. Anthony Chafunya delivered an insightful presentation focusing on wellness and fitness. He underscored the importance of regular exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
